常用用法

schedule用作名詞的意思是“進度表”“計劃表”轉化爲動詞則表示“將某事列入進度表”“爲某事安排時間”。
schedule是及物動詞,接名詞、代詞或動詞不定式作賓語,可用於被動結搆。
schedule作動詞時，指“（預先）槼定”，在美國使用比較普遍。The door is scheduled to be closed at eleven o'clock. 槼定好，11點關門。
train schedule在美國指“火車時刻表”，在英國同timetable意思一樣；
美國人常用的schedule搭配有according to schedule，on schedule，to schedule，up to schedule和behind schedule。according to schedule指“按計劃地”。to schedule指“按照預定時間”。up to schedule指“達到預定計劃的”。behind schedule指“落後於預定計劃的”。The meeting was held according to schedule. 會議按照計劃進行。The trains did not run to schedule in that storm.Our progress is up to schedule.The train arrived behind schedule. 火車比預定時間晚到了。

這四個詞都可指時間安排的次序。agenda主要指會議日程; programme主要指音樂會、運動會、廣播、電眡的節目單、程序表; schedule和timetable都指時間表,後者更實際,常指課程表或車、船、航班等的時刻表。
